My 21" Samsung CRT monitor broke, so it's under extended warrenty and I took it back to Future Shop. They don't have anymore of those models left so I received $600 store credit, used it on 2 19" LCDs and am soooo happy for the purchase. 2MS response time, 2000:1 contrast ratio, and saves a heck of a lot of space on my desk. I used to think CRT was better than LCD but LCD technology has improved and there is no more of that "motion blur". Not only that but LCDs are way better for the eyes not to mention colors, brightness and clarity. You basically get what you pay for, there are some really crappy LCD monitors as well. Plus, what's up with all the "widescreen" LCD monitors out there?? I don't like the aspect ratio on those and it seems like most of the manufacturers are going that way. Can anybody explain why this is the case?

But I still stand by my statement :) LCD is teh shit, espeically when you have 2 of them side by side!
 


yeah once you get 2 monitors you never want to go back
my own self is looking for an excuse to buy a third one

Stanley, I disagree about widescreen.
I've got a single 19'' widescreen, and I love it. I can view videos, surf the web, etc. and have MSN running down the right. If I had 2 monitors, I don't think I'd find it as useful, but it would probably still have its place.

my gripe with widescreen is that it actually gives you less space
1600 x 1200 is 1920000
1680 x 1050 is 1764000
when you're running 12 or 15 programs at a time, you need all the space you can get ya know?
so on my right screen I have AIM gtalk skype and photoshop panels
on my left screen i have the stuff I'm actually working on
Im thinking of getting a 30" apple lcd to replace the 21" samsung lcd
 
I could never go back to one monitor. Two monitors doubles my productivity.
 
I'm thinking of getting 2 LDC monitors, right now i have a big chunky CRT.. It's a good monitor but dual monitors sound tempting.

What's the best LCD monitor under $150?

save more money and buy one that's not going to suck
 
I can afford a better a more expensive monitor, so what monitor do you think i should buy?
 
I've got a dell 24" widescreen and love it. Plenty of space to run windows side by side, and great for DVDs. I don't feel the need for 2 monitors at all now.
