I used to swear by Joomla/Mambo but after learning Drupal I got to say its much leaner and more powerful.

Does anyone think the opposite? I would love to debate on that.

I also heard Typo3 is raelly good but it seems like a bitch to set up, you need to install it as a server application or something. I'm really curious about how it works though, I've heard it's much more powerful then even drupal

Got to love those Open source guys :) so much work for just making the web a better place. Of course they have sponsors but still getting such an great product for free (in a legal way ;) ) is sweet

Everyone I know prefers Drupal.
Joomla is way more popular in general though. It's such a shame, it's only popular thanks to it's kickass marketing campaigns (back in the"mambo" times.

Drupal is marketed really poorly just compare their slogans

"Power in Simplicity"
vs
"Community Plumbing"

I don't need to tell you wich one would appeal more to newbies ;)

Power in simplicity! ofcourse :p, well for school atleast. Dont want to put that much effort in some lousy assignment. Altho i havent really used drupal but i heard joomla was easier.. soo yea...

Joomla all the way. Although, I'm a big fan of Wordpress (with plugins).

My main concern with Joomla was it's duplicate url problems, it messes with your SEF urls and prevents certain components to mess up, such as category tables.

Wordpress would seem to be the content management system of choice these days.
