Since first coming to WickedFire I've increased my retail website businesss by 18%. Although I am not smart enough to earn a living through PPC Arbitrage, or Affiliate Sales, retail is getting easier.

So, don't forget retail sales web sites. Find a product, stock it, and promote it. Sure, making money out of thin air is the best way to go. But if you are like me and struggling to compete with the more knowledgable players - retail offers less savy competition.

I've learned better ad writing. I now understand AdWords better. I've found alternative traffic sources. All of which has increased my gross sales per day by 18%, net income has increased by 40%.

I have a long way to go... but the little knowledge I've gained in the last month or so has really paid off. Who knows, another month from now I might be earning a positive income on the 'thin air' strategies =)

I thought about that approach, but wasn't sure where to get the product that I was interested in promoting.
The large wholesalers (Tech Data, MA Labs) all wanted to do a credit check on my business, which has no credit.

Don't worry about a credit check as far as Tech Data was concerned. When I opened an account with them I didnt even fill that part out lol

The mainstream electronics market is just so damn hard to work in. When you have places that buy in such huge quantities, their pricing will blow you out of the water.

hmm.. so what would I need to register? I have a sole proprietor business

I just gave the basic information and I didn't give any trade references. I can't remember if I gave bank info or not..

I also have a sole proprietorship. As I said don't expect to see some real awesome prices or anything and a lot of the products require "authorization" which means filling out some long ass form and being approved to sell it.

You can get cheaper prices on any of their products via ebay lol

I also have an account at D&H and its pretty much the same thing minus the whole authorization stuff

Be careful with 'commodity' products.

If I was looking for another retail product I'd want:

1. High profit margin
2. Something I could rebrand under my own company
3. Something that didn't have any 'affiliate' competition. --- last thing I'd want is to compete with you guys =)

I'd probably have a local furniture maker build computer desks to my specs and brand them under my own name. I've never been able to find desks that suited my needs. Then use my newfound knowledge of web design and promotion to kick the crap out of the competition!

My desks would be pricey, but they would have room for 2-3 computers + monitors + good ventilation...if I had more time, I'd do it.

Been a while, but I did use alibaba.com to have some products manufactured to my specs.
