As someone with aspirations of building my own site and running a business from home part-time I have to say what the hell have I been doing?

I've had some good ideas but never gotten round to doing anything with them. In fact I still have a few ideas of other projects and will probably purchase a couple of new domain names... Maybe one day I'll get round to doing something with them?

Kakiboo.com & Kakiboo.co.uk
I bought this for no other reason than it was available, sounds good, and I think is quite brand-able. For what though I don’t know?!

GadgetZone.org
Don’t know what possessed me to purchase this one… Seemed like a good idea at the time considering the .com, .co.uk and .net versions aren’t in use but then I found out it’s extremely hard to make it in the super-competitive hi-tech market (although I haven’t tried). I might still give it a bash one day – they say blog about something you’re interested in.

Blogonomics.co.uk
Perhaps another trials and tribulations of an affiliate beginner blog? To be honest I’m fascinated with design and usability ever since the internet was born. It’s a good domain seeing as I want to target the UK market primarily and the .com, .net and .org versions aren’t in use. Again, a very competitive area to get into but then if I enjoy talking and writing about it why shouldn’t I? I think it’s a memorable name and a brand-able one too.

UnlawfulBankCharges.com
Can you believe I bought this way back in January 2007 and did nothing with it!? I came across an interesting article about unlawful bank charges (in the UK) and after quite a bit of research managed to claim back over £2k. I bought the domain and never got round to do anything with it even though the research I did would’ve made perfect content for the site. I could’ve had loads of hits when the whole “scandal” hit the main-stream media a few months later. What a wasted opportunity!

What do you think of the names? Good? Bad? Have you bought domains with bright ideas behind them only to have done nothing with them at all months/years later?

GadgetZone.org : Nice keyword domain but the niche is definately competitive. I would say try to sell this to some other damain investor or may be to the person who own the .net as he may be interested in increasing his brandvalue ;) ;) :boobies:
