Ok, so the other night I was looking for a domain name for a site I am building, and I kind of just got sidetracked and started typing in everything I could think of at the time...

The end result is a text file of 66 .com domain names, none of which I have registered because, well... I don't have the moolah :P

Soooo.... There are a few in there that I think could REALLY sell... But then again, I have no idea, because I've never done this.

When I say they could really sell, I mean they are cool names, simple, straightforward, catchy, useful, a few have multiple keywords within the domain, and... Yea... You get where I'm going with this.

Anyways, my question is, say I were to go register a few of these right now at Godaddy... Can I turn around and try to sell them immediately? Or do I need to wait?

Something else I've wondered too, is, what is the fastest way to get rid of a decent domain name?

I went to Sedo and there are some pretty shitty fucking domains going for a few hundred. I have a few that are WAY better (and the ones on Sedo all have bids, I looked)...

WWJD?
;)

If I could go buy like 4 or 5 tomorrow afternoon with a Godaddy discount code, then turn around and off them within 48 hours for a really fair price, I would totally get wood.

Thanks guys

Omfg...

I just had a look at warriorforum and digitalpoint and... omg... I have a headache.

Why the fuck is everything a god damn dollar there?

If I tallied up all the "articles" i saw for sale (they all sell in packages), it would be like 90,000 fucking articles... and EVERYONE is slangin em like dirt weed...

"25 articles, $2!!!!"

Like, what? Fuck that bullshit.

Anyways, I came here to update this thread by saying...

I looked around elsewhere to find my answer, and I think I got mental spam, a headache, and maybe sexually transmitted spyware... Fuck those sites.

lol

When your looking at domain sales make sure they actually happened. Not jsut for sale. Sedo and lots of other sites have idiots selling crap for $100 to $999. Also sometimes people bid and drag their feet paying.

Took me like 3 weeks to get all the BS done for the last one. But it was a big company buying and we had some domain privacy and escrow issues.

But there is typically no wait time required at all. Some tlds have restrictions like requiring a local address and tax number and then there is a 6 month wait on new sales. But .com .net .org no wait.

Do you really think these are that great? I had a few domains that look awesome do nothing for typein and dont sell...

Whatever you do dont check them on netsol.com or on many registars. They might try them themselves.

Or they never pay. If you didnt know, its a really easy way to hold a domain back that you dont want to seee.. go. Just buy it on sedo and not pay. Half the people on there really never do anything about it cause they dont have money to pursue legal action and sedo fucking sucks enough not to help them out.
Dont just buy domains cause you think they are great, honestly get ready to wait for about 3 months before you can buy a domain so you can prove 2 things.. one the domain has traffic or even better.. just develop that sucka. :)
Cheers.
Sitting and waiting for your magic domain to sell (even with traffic) is like closing yourself in your bedroom hoping that you are going to get laid. You have to have some sort of value to a prospective female if you ever aim to get b2n those legs.

Totally gay i know, but would you rather buy a cool sounding domain i.e buycheapdiamonds.com making nothing or would you buy getcheapdiamonds.com which is making 1000 a month. Think of the prospective buyer before you go out there and spend alot of money and get seriously burned.

Thanks for the tips guys...

The reason I was asking was simply to find out whether or not I could snag a few domains with that cheap ass .com coupon for godaddy, then turn around and sell each for like $25-$45

I'm not saying hundreds or thousands of dollars, I am just always looking for ways to make a little extra cash :)
