Somebody clear my doubts about domain transfer.

-->I have a blog WordPress.com

-->After a few days, I upgraded to premium domain www.xyz.com, for a period of 1 year. (ie, I paid $17 for that domain a year)

I heard that we can't transfer, the domain name to another account for a period of 60 days.

Now, please answer the following questions.

1) After 60 days, can I transfer the domain www.xyz.com to godaddy account? ( to sell that domain)

2) Is this 60 days limitation for a new domain, correct?

3) Is there any charges for doing this?

4) Can we transfer the domain, just before the few days a domain expires?

Genuine help will be appreciated.
God bless you!

3 - yes. When you transfer a domain, godaddy is going to charge a fee. It is not a transfer fee, but they will extend your registration time. The only time I have not seen a fee for this is when you already have on godaddy and you are transferring to another godaddy user.

4. Yes - you can transfer up to 5 days before the expiration.

The 60 day limitation is for new domains, OR if you change the registrant information at Godaddy.

And a transfer may only take 5 days, in my experience you don't want to wait that long. Give yourself at least 7 days and 14 days is safer. There are things that can delay your transfer and 5 days MAY not give you enough time.
