I am looking at a particular domain name for which the objective of the website is technically global. the .com of it is not available. Is it worth purchasing a .co.uk (local to me) or a .net or a .org? I can't decide between them
I would go with a .net. If I recall correctly, ".org" is only for nonprofit sites, so you shouldn't go with it if you're hoping to make any money off of the site itself. (Well, other than potentially selling the domain.)
.net or .org will work pick either one of them. If your goal is to target locally go for .co.uk, but if you want global traffic .net/.org would work better.
