Does basecamp do this?

Ok I read the thread on what project management software you guys use, but I can't seem to find something that suits my needs. I have looked at dropbox, sugarsync and carbonite.

Basically I want something that allows me to organize shit with a group of five people. What I absolutely need and what none of these services have is password protection or some way to lock down a certain folder with sensitive stuff.

What are my options here?

That looks good and they do have a user based access control type thing which would be nice, although that is geared towards software development. Basically all I need is a place where people can upload excel files and we can keep track of changes and different projects.

I guess if there is nothing like that though I will just have to use this :/

I haven't used basecamp before but what you are saying is I can say "user 1" has access to projects 1, 2, 3, and "user 2" has access to only project 1?

Yes that's correct. You can designate certain users to have access to certain projects.

TeamworkPM, set each person up on their own company and designate which person in which company can see which file(s)/sections/tasks/projects/notebooks/etc.
