Hi, I am new to affiliate marketing. And found a news in one forum that an advertiser gives 50% commission rate to new publishers to their program. New publishers should get certain average daily sale and if you could not get that average daily sale, they promise to give at least 20% commission rate. I think this is attractive. Maybe I could have a try? How do you guys think about it?

Given you're considering a 50% commission I'm guessing it's probably an ebook.

Ebooks are a dime a fucking dozen and even with 100% commission you'll have shitloads of trouble getting any worthwhile "publishers" to promote it (personal experience).

It all depends on the market. Some markets like info-products have high margins and so they can offer 50-75%. Other markets like retail products (music gear) only offer 4-8% because there are such low margins.

Whats more important than the exact % of comission is if it will convert with your list. I'd rather promote something that will make 100 sales @ 20% than 5 sales at 50% (with the same product price).
