Sorry for the very newb question but here it goes...

I am just getting into the affiliate marketing scene and am looking to create small micro sites for each affiliate program/product I will be marketing. For example sake, let say 5 different sites. I also plan on purchasing 5 unique domain names for each of the 5 sites.

Question:
Should I purchase 5 different web hosting accounts for each domain? (mainly trying to take in consideration organic SEO) Or can I just have 1 hosting account with 5 different folders for each site and "forward" each domain to it's appropriate folder?

Or is there another solution that would be even better?

thanks
John

most providers allow you to host more than one domain per hosting account

you won't need to forward the domains to a subfolder, you will be able create separate sites so that each site will be reachable from his own domain hence will be completely separate from the others

all the sites will be hosted on the same IP address it this is what you're worried about

I guess my concern is are those other domains just forwarded and masked? I know on godaddy for instance, i have some urls forwarded and masked to various folders on the one server and it ends up putting the site in a frame! EEK! i don't want that for SEO reasons.

when you create a new site in Cpanel (that's the most used control panel for shared accounts) you get a new website created and configured on the server with its own dns records, own mailboxes if you need them etc, no frames

the same should be with any other control panel
I don't know how it works when you you mask a domain from godaddy...

Well I personally have a really good, cheap (Lifetime sale) reseller account so I can afford creating a whole new hosting account for each domain but you will be ok if you just create a subdomain and direct your domain there.

Just don't link the sites to each other if you're running them all on the same server, you don't want to get nailed for multiple domain spam or have Google block your server IP.

There are several hosts that offer SEO specific hosting, that will supply IPs from different Class Cs. The DC I work for doesn't offer SEO specific hosting, however supplying IPs from different blocks usually isn't an issue.

I'd definitely get an account with cPanel / WHM to help you manage all of your sites on one account.

Check out Zensix for hosting. The owner, Subigo, is a member here and they regularly have great deals. I just got a mid-zen package ~ $18/year with unlimited domains. Cpanel, fantastico & a whole bunch o' good stuff.

Hostgator provide a baby package $9.95 a month, use coupon :404PAGE
you will get $0.01 in first month

to add your domain just login to cpanel and klik on "addon domain"

this package allow you to add unlimited domain and unlimited bandwith

to upload your file recommend using FTP software like Filezilla (free)

I use lunar pages myself, just the basic package but they're doing a deal just now where you pay $59.95 up front for 12 months - it costs you effectively $4.95 per month for your hosting. You get unlimited add-on domains and new customers get a free domain when they order plus a whole host of other goodies.

I also use godaddy for my domains and just set the nameservers in godaddy to lunarpages and in lunarpages go to your cpanel and 'add domain'. Very quick and painless!

Any minor problems I've had in the past have also been dealt very quickly by customer services.

My 2 cents. Hope this helps :-)

I too am new to network marketing. I think I saw that sub-domains would be looked at as seperate urls for serach engine indexing. Ist htat true?
