I'm at a point where I am looking to hire a VA. I was wondering if any paperwork will need to be filled out if I get one. Or is there anything else I should know about hiring a VA?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Most of the time you hire these assistants through a company that will do all of the paperwork for you. They never really become your employee so you don't have have to worry about filing their taxes either as the agency does that for you as well.

Make sure that you are able to effectively communicate with you VA and they understand entirely what is you are asking of them. I've seen many people have problems communicating with their assistant, and led to lots of bad experiences to say the least. Also coming up with some kind of contract/ agreement for them to sign isn't a bad idea. It could contain things like what you are expecting from the arrangement, if they can qualify for any bonuses for doing a good job, things like that. When I hire a new writer for my website I give them a "new writer's manual" which basically explains everything required of them in a clear and concise format. This manual saved me tons of time by elimating prior problems and misunderstandings. These are just some suggestions however!

Good luck :)
