Do any of the Youtube downloaders work anymore?

Looking for a working Youtube downloader (either program, command line, or web app) but it seems Youtube has really been fairly successful in preventing most of them from working anymore.

Any suggestions are welcome...thanks!

why dont you just get the downloadhelper plugin for firefox...thats what I've been using for years. Always worked perfectly.

Professors who teach open courseware recommend it for downloading their videos from Youtube.

Fun fact: Keepvid doesn't have Youtube in its list of supported sites. (keepvid.com/faq)
