At least from a user perspective. I know all the traffic benefits for digg (although they are really bad in terms of generating revenue.) However for the first time today I stopped down on Digg and decided to see if they had any interesting stories. I had never really down this before. So I brought up their front page and the first story I clicked on timed out without bringing up the page and the second one was an account suspended page for going over their ISP limit.

How useful can digg be as an actual resource if a lot of the time the pages with the information on are not accessible. Certainly I could have just had bad luck, but I suspect that this is a pretty common occurence for sites on the front page of digg. Which in the end makes it as a news resource fairly worseless.

Digg is useful when the link to big sites that can handle the load. Generally though, if you look in the comments for any item on digg there will be a link for a mirror posted pretty quickly.
