Fucking twice already in like 2 days I have been reading here.

But I'll get over it, eventually. I'm sure I'll learn to avoid them soon enough and luckily my wife and kids weren't around the couple of times I got done.

I can handle the trolling, flaming, porn, dickrolling, obnoxious mods etc. It's a refreshing change from some other sanitized and overly PC forums I have been a part of.

But what's annoying is the stupid spam threads. I decided to report 3 of them in the education center like 2 days ago, but they are still sitting there on page 1, theres probably 10 spam threads on page 1 and I'm not interested in waiting 60 seconds each time to report them all.

I'm trying to do a lot of reading and get a vibe for the forum before I post too much as I know the tolerance for noobs is extremely low here. But it's hard to find the decent info when I have to wade knee deep through zombie shit to find it.

Is this forum (outside of STS) now abandoned or something?

You seem to have nearly as many mods as members so I thought you might be a bit more on the ball than some other forums about getting rid of the junk from the 3rd world.

Hoping this isn't another DP or V7n in the making.

Not intended to be disrespectful, just hoping you guys might wanna do a little bit of housework from time to time.

Yeah I know I'm probably in for a world of shit now, gonna hide for a couple of days I think. :evil_laughter:
 


Yeah, the dickrolls do get annoying at times. I blocked it in my /etc/hosts file. Get googlehammer.com to 127.0.0.1.

There is some great information throughout the forum. You should probably first stroll through the Enlightened Section, and go through all the top sticks in each section.

There is a newbie section, so you are pretty safe in there.

I have spent a few days reading through a lot of stuff in the Enlightened section, my only concern is so much of it was written years ago and I'm not sure how relevant it would be in a fast changing industry like this one.

My issue isn't really with the dickrolls, it's the junk threads that the mods are leaving in place, the "Education Center" is pretty much full of junk threads that look like they may have been written by bots, I reported a bunch of them but it appears the mods aren't much interested in cleaning up the forum any more.
 
Actually a majority of the enlightened section has good content, that is recently relevant. In fact I have an ongoing case study there. I'm constantly in there reading, cause even if there is something old, there can be new twists and turns put to it. Updated if you will, for 2012.

Been Dickrolled 2-3 times since I started, but that's it.. Being paranoid with all the links posted here in WF..

There's still some dickrolls in the newbie section :) Just found out a thread yesterday. Newbie trying to dickroll a newbie..
