So I have the domain ringio.com .net , and .org (don't worry its parked) and was wondering what you guys think as far as developing it with affiliate offers. I have done affiliate stuff in the past, but nothing organic. I'm not an affiliate "pro" by any means, my real talent lays in design, but AM is something I want to get more involved in.

Anyways, for ringio I had some ideas of setting up a blog, putting cell phone pictures and reviews on there, along with affiliate ads and adsense tied in....as far as promotion I have no idea (don't want to go the adwords route)...

any ideas, past experiences as far as affiliate stuff goes would be helpful

join a network and find cell phone related offers...

i'd recommend writing blog posts around the offers, not just general cell phone stuff or products. you want the traffic coming into the blog looking for what you're getting commissions on.

you plan on just getting natural search traffic?

I don't want to get just natural search...there are other ways besides adwords like banners, textlinks etc...but I guess I'm kind of stuck as to where I should take this site

you have some sick design skills..really got that 'web 2.0' idea nailed down..

Here's one way to take it. Use some keyword research tool and feed it seed words that include 'mobil phone' cellphone, 'smart phone', blackberry, iphone, etc.

Look at the big list you pulled together, and try to find a subset of related keywords that seem interesting. Let's say you end up with

smartphone
nokia smartphone
blackberry smartphone
symbion os phone
mobile apps iphone
mobile apps blackberry
gps blackberry
mobile phone turn-by-turn

pull together a list of 250 of them.

Next, get hosting, install wordpress, add a decent theme and logo, configure for best SEO (find the wordpress sticky somewhere here on WF)

and then start writing -- one page per keyword.

Use the keyword in the post title, and once or twice in the post itself. Add it to the meta keywords, and use it in the meta title and meta description.

Get a google sitemap plugin, and submit the sitemap to google's webmaster tools.

As you add your posts, create categories that make sense, to organize the content.

Once you have about 30 posts, start link building - submit to directories and social bookmarking sites, etc. Write articles and submit to articles directories.

Keep working down your keyword list, keeping to theme and you'll start to rank for long-tail terms. Keep adding related posts and link building.

Review existing CPA offers and find some you can spin in line with your theme - and promote the offer directly in your post -- don't just throw banners up and hope they convert. Talk about the offer, and why it's such a great deal -- and then give them the link.

Once you have some traction and feel like trying it, add some offer landing pages, and drive ppc traffic to them. Your established on theme site should have an excellent quality score, if you write the ad copy to match.

Good luck!

Try setting up a wordpress blog and make a few pages for it. Choose longtail keywords that you will know you will rank for. Once indexed, slap up some affiliate links and/or google adsense and watch the money flow in. The hardest aprt is setting the site up, once you have that done then the money flows in.

What if I use blogger.com and not wordpress, is there a disadvantage? BTW, marfarma, thanks for the advice!
