Hey guys.. I have a question and I am hopeing you can atleast direct me into the correct direction.

I have a small app that I have developed and is about ready to be released (1 or 2 of testing left and revisions). But I am starting to think about the deployment and I wanted to ask you all and see what you recommend. I need the application to be secure in the terms you just can't download it and use it. I would like some CD Key or authentication to be done during install.

Is there a third party component on the market that people would recommend? Or do you all use techniques you have come up with?

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

No offense, but if you don't know how to integrate product registration you probably shouldn't be releasing applications to the public. That's a pretty basic part of professional software development.

Hire a freelance programmer from elance, scriptlance, or rent-a-coder who can integrate the registration and check the app to make sure it's secure and worthy of a public release.

I wouldn't waste my energy to be honest, the people that would pay will pay the people that won't will find a crack, and people will release cracks for anything. I've had software I've written cracked that was a windows music alarm clock and cost like $5 with a note on my homepage saying you could have it free if you mailed me.

Agreed.
