wiredtree

Ditto. They have some badass coupons too.

I got a quad-core i7 @ 2.66ghz , 12GB RAM, 80 GB Intel X-25M SSD, 4000GB BW, Remote Reboot, 8 IP's , Fully Managed WHM / cPanel for like $248 per month, and would have been less if I had payed a setup fee or more in advance.

Their support is awesome, and very fast. Hasn't gone done or haven't had any problems yet.

iweb.com mate, they ALWAYS have deals going on, try checking the clearance section for current deals.

and their support aint bad either.

I've had two dedi's with them over a period of 3 years.

And they also FUCK YOU on the contracts. I'm currently sent to collections for like $120 because they have fucking retarded support. FUCK IWEB.

On a second note, I'm with SoftLayer and they're not too bad. For a basic box they do the right things.

I would have given DedicatedNow (FortressDewey) a high 5 with this post (and endorsement because the deal kicks ass), but I still don't have my server with them yet - I won't review what I haven't tried. Sigh.

Ah that sucks man, but I pretty much owed them something like $500 and they still kept the hosting going.

Told them I couldn't afford the new charges and they pretty much just axed off $300 from my account and told me to just pay the amount I owed them from 2 months ago.

Then they offered me a cheaper server coz they saw I wasn't utilizing all my resources and they will even move my sites for free.

Haven't had this happened to me when I was hosting with hostgator.

If you hate the French accent, iweb might be a problem coz they're in montreal, (heavy french accent from support). lol, but these guys are cool in my book, haa.

If you are looking for on-shore (you didn't specify) hostmatters.com is decent but that really depends what your doing, they setup and get you going. They are like $150 /month with cPanel, WHM, 5 ips, all the necessities.

Thanks nick, onshore is fine, its a legit project. I'm starting to wonder if hostgator is a nice simple solution. Anyone had any probs with them re security, etc?

Heard good stuff about softlayer too. If you are looking for something cheaper, I used to use dedicentral. They are pretty good.

Anybody using anything cloud related where you can start up/shut down servers as you need to with with WHM/Cpanel? Don't want to hijack - but that would be a nice cloud service.

I have heard some pretty awesome stuff about softlayer as well considering of getting servers with them next month. I currently have dedicated servers with Hostgator and there service so far is pretty awesome.

i'm not using it but liquidweb have this service at stormondemand.com.
