do you back up your site data - which tool do you use

i have lost 2 hard drives over the last few years and every time i swore i would start to back up every day - and i did for about a month - 1 month turned to 2 - 2 to 3 ect ect

I've been wanting to create a script that'll ftp me the backups of my sites on a regular basis in the off change my host loses them *touching wood*. my hosting provider does backups for me.

i had a program that did the opposite of that - it would daily upload all folders you told it to from your computer to your server - so you had a back up of all your important files - it was a demo and i never got round to buying the full version - cool tool though

rsync for incremental backups, only backs up the changed files when it runs, saves you time and bandwidth

I worked as a PC Tech for a little while so I know that most drives can be salvaged even after they break down.
If your data is REALLY important to you, there's hard drive recovery places that charge around $1k+ to get your files off the broken drive.

That said, I don't do too many backups. I know I should, but I keep forgetting.
