I just wanted to share this with you people:

On some site, there was a very comprehensive CSS-compressor shootout and this one was clearly the winner.

I'd recommend working with and saving your CSS in expanded, human readable format and a compressed format for uploading, as the compressed CSS would be a bitch to update.

I don't really think it's worth anyone's time to compress CSS, there is little banwidth savings as CSS is aggressively cached on modern browsers.

Optimizing your HTML is far more important.
 
the CSS optimization usually yields only a few kb
I say that because I did it before and after a few tries I decided it's not worth the difference
