I am working as a tech consultant for 2 companies that really dont have any idea about marketing online. I have an opportunity to come up with something that could be profitable for me and the affiliates involved. And as the thread location suggests, I am in charge of this and a total noob at it... if they only knew I was posting this
One company sells gloves, toolbelts, and other contractor accessories online. They do private label and promotional products as well and have some dropshipping accounts they work with. They are really trying to push this toolbelt that has lumbar support and some other patented mechanisms to make it work. Without giving too much away, I was just wondering if this product would be a good candidate for some of these online affiliate networks to push. The general concept of affiliate marketing I understand, but what I dont know is what networks to go with that would have publishers that would create targeted campaigns and convert prospects into buyers. The other product line sales are 'hemorrhaging' and I am looking for a solution that would basically cost the company $0 in marketing, but be willing to give commission on sales of the product.
The other company I am working with is creating a sort of as seen on tv device for your car that is patented and reduces your carbon footprint. I am creating the website for it and there are talks of it being featured on infomercials. Clearly if it gets to that level, I want to find a company who manages things like shamwow/snuggie's online campaign and the backend can be integrated with calling centers, fulfillment houses, etc.
Generally, my understanding is that affiliates put the ad dollars in (through adwords, ppc, banners), but who builds those landing pages? For the glove company with $0 in marketing available, would they have to build a new website? Use a affiliate network or software to power it?
For the the carbon footprint reducer company who has some marketing dollars to spend, would that change the way we create an affiliate program for it?
Any help would be fucking awesome...:rasta: http://www.wickedfire.com/newbie-questions/5251-n00bs-guide-surviving-wickedfire.html
