So i was plugging a few random domain names in to see what was available...

I found a few large international companies that had not registered their .CM domains.

Is there any value in registering these so that in the future they could be sold to said company?

TIA

Ok so i did a little reading, and what I gather it comes down to INTENT.

What I'm getting at is... theres alot of big companies, with lots of moniez (think pharma, airlines etc), that haven't registered their CM's, and alot of them are actually doing things in Cameroon...

If one was to buy these and do nothing, could they be sold to them later on?

If you're working mostly in Cameroon, local or otherwise then it makes sense to have a .cm domain, but if you're an international business work worldwide, it pays to have one of the generics (.com, .net, .org)

If one was to buy these and do nothing, could they be sold to them later on?

It's a gamble, but there are folks who try to make a living off registering various company names on various TLDs in hope that the original company will pay them for it.

This isn't 1997 - You're not going to be able to register a company's domain in another TLD and sell it to them for any sort of real money.

Columbia is .co and Niger is .ne, two other interesting TLDs :)

I copped xanax.cm and valium.cm

I plan on redirecting them to a cont meds pharma site lol, I should have regged them anonymously.. :Z def trademarked names but meh.

they dont get much typo traffic at all as you can see if you visit them..

they are selling for $105 atm on namecheap.com to reg a .cm.

Read up about Kevin Ham and his .cm hustle. made millions off .cm

The .cm typo traffic is not as big as you may imagine. You need .cm versions of very popular sites or generic terms to get any significant traffic. Most of the good ones were auctioned off in the .cm landrush at prices that IMHO make it very difficult to get a good ROI. The cost of the "reg fee" is high enough to make whats left a big gamble.
