Right now I got about 9 domains sitting on dreamhost.com right now. Ideally I'd like to transfer them all over to godaddy, but I can't afford 6.99 x 9 right now.

So are there any registrars right now running promos for first time customers to transfer all their domains over cheaply?

When changing registrars you normally have to pay a years reg fee. You failed once with dreamhost, don't fail again by going with godaddy, hit up namecheap.

What rage9 said. I've always been a fan of godaddy. Ok to be frank, Danica Patrick, but the free private whois at namecheap is pulling me over as fast as my domains expire

Why exactly is godaddy = fail? Does namecheap have the host registration like godaddy ( so I can create my own private nameservers ), or the total DNS if I need to manually link some records and such?

PS: I wasn't around here when I joined dreamhost, and prior to that was some friend of mine and prior to that was fuitadnet (god they were actually worse).

Reading more on namecheap... can I use their DNS for my resolv.conf so I can use the lower memory DNS server on my hosting?
