I'm interested to know how to generate charts like you see on financial sites.

Examples...

one
two

Often looking like these;
dEAkQ.gif

or

ZwURS.png

Someone told me there is the newer HTML5 way, and the old way (displaying static gif)

I'm more interested in the static gif method. Already have ideas where to get data feeds.

Any idea where I can read up on generating these charts?

Thnx

If you want to do it client side with spiffy animations, highcharts, an open-source Javascript library. They work very well and across all browsers.

Thanks for feedback, lots of great input.

Client wants static gif charts because the competitor has that.

(Likely coz the competitor has a lot of back links from these embedded charts [1m+] - even though all examples above are much better )
