OK, I´ll explain:

I checked my stats on one of the programs I promote, only to find that I went from 0$ this period to -100$. Someone had chargebacked a product. The sponsor took the chargeback money from my not yet earned funds!

Is this a decent practice or true evil? I other programs I have gotten chargeback money taken from funds that hadn´t been paid to me yet. Not from future money. What do you think - OK or not?

Seems the same as getting billed for it. Getting chargebacks blow in general. But as for how it's showing in your account as a negative against future earnings, I don't see a problem.

What company did this so I can stay the hell away from them?

When I get paid I expect everything to be checked at THAT time.

Well, it's always a bit difficult, on one hand affiliates want to get paid full and fast, on the other hand there is always a risk of a chargeback later, sometimes after a payout.

It's a risk for the sponsor, if there are no future earnings on your account (just hyopothetical, no offense) and I can't see a reason why this isn't a fair solution....it's more of a problem for them than for you.

Chargebacks aren't that common nowadays, since credit card companies can be really nasty if you have too many chargebacks in your program, but they occur from time to time and there is no way to avoid them, except cancelling suspicious transactions instantly and giving refunds whenever a customers requests them for a valid reason.

If you give too many refunds, affiliates will start complaining, if you cancel too many transactions that look fishy you get accused of shaving...it's complicated.

OK, thanks. I won´t out the sponsor as I´m very happy with their efforts in general. Nice support & content for affiliates. But this sucks!
