Hi,

I was thinking of setting up a bunch of niche sites on my current shared hosting account and when some of them start to take off, move to proper VPS or other kind of server solution.

Would this change of IP have any effect of my SERP, or only changing domain owner has ( i saw somewhere that if you buy an older domain, althought it might be indexed and receive traffic (aged), the fact that you change owners in the registry it might reset the age-benefits)?

Thanks
HH

From my experience, changing the IP of the site has no effect on the google ranking.

moved my best google ranking site to a vps about a month ago and i have seen no negative effects. did jump from #10 to #7 for a huge keyword though :)
