I think it would be great if a pro domainer could do a case study on this and give insight on specific areas such as:
1) privacy issues (how to protect your niches esp. with websites like Domaintools out there)
2) transferring the domain
3) Best practices in selling your domain (the best places to list it, how to write a description to attract the right buyer, etc)
4) How to negotiate
5) Growth vs. Income (i.e. buying low and selling high vs. income streaming via park vs. development)
6) The pros and cons of tasting or kiting
I would like to know what is the regulation surrounding how soon one can list a domain for sale after it is bought. I heard someone mention 60 days but I am not sure.
I think this would be great info to have in the free forum for people who are starting out. Then, once someone has the basics and is in a position to ask higher level questions, they can join the private forum.
Anyone interested?
Addressing each step of the transaction would be highly useful. As an example:
1)acquiring the domain ->registering it properly (ex. some people suggest listing "for sale" in Whois if you are looking to sell) ->listing to properties ->writing the right descriptions that will attract and sell to the right buyer ->writing letters to people for the pro-active sell (example you own the .net of a valuable domain that you feel the .com owner may be interested in buying)->transferring and payment (how to avoid pitfalls) ->aftersale (how to keep an open line of communication so you can sell to people in the future)
