I've been contacted on LinkedIn because someone was scammed for $$$$ by a domain matching mine (with diff extension), claiming to be my company, even hosting my company certificate, listing my company address, etc.
I contacted the web host and registrar and the web host shutdown the site when I verified ownership of the company, but the registrar is absolutely non-responsive with regards to my abuse emails. They changed web host and it's back up!
The only solution I can see at this point is to anonymously DDOS the site, but I really don't to be caught out. I can run 'wrk' from my local machine and go through a VPN and bring it down (tested for a few minutes before), but I doubt it will fully protect my identity. I can't afford a DDOS service so ideally need to run this on my comp 24/7 until they've had enough.
Any ideas? I know it's a bit extreme but I'm unwilling to sit back and watch someone attempt to ruin the reputation of my company.
