Hi! I work full time as affiliate marketer for more than 5 years with consistent income of >$3.000 but I decided to create this thread here as I consider myself a noob about buying links.

With that said: back in the days I started promoting aff offers through seo I bought link packages here in 'buy, sell, trade' and I never saw any boost in my websites and some of them were surely penalized.

After Penguins and Pandas I tried to play safe and never bought a link package again; thing is I look at the serps now and I see new affiliate websites promoting new products at #1 to #5 for product related keywords and they all buy links which is more than clear running them on any link check tool.

My question is: what should I consider when choosing a link building package on 'buy, sell, trade' section? What should I look at, what should I avoid, etc?...

Just a note: this keywords have 'low' competition because I'm talking about non english keywords and almost always new keywords (new products that start from one day to another to have high levels of search). For reference I can put my new domains between #5 to #20 just with on-site seo, so what I'm looking is something that can give a small boost and as safe as possible...

Looking forward to hear your advices. Thanks in advance

First of all, happy 6th anniversary.

Second, after 6 years in the game, you aren't sure yet? It really just depends on what you need, to be honest, the niche you're involved in, the country you want the links to come from, etc. Maybe tell us a little about your competitions link profiles and we can help?

Its understandable to be late in the backlinks news cause it updates as fast as shit, but to know nothing is entirely a different thing, are you trolling?

best links of all? PBNs
when we say private blogs it should be damn PRIVATE and not sold in BST, hidden in public and google. theres a guide in the enlightenment section about that

Buy old domains with decent stats build a site, get links and do the auto post to keep it updated atleast once a month. youll have your own links that even competitors couldnt copy with age, trust and a lot more

so even if im a provider myself, if you dont want to be hit by the next updates dont buy packages and build your damn own niche related pbns

before anything else thank you both for your answers...

I'm late in buying link building packages because I stop doing it about 2 years ago... thing is I look at the serps and who's ranking for that kind of keywords are sites who clearly bought link packages.

I appreciate the advice for creating my own PBN, specially for sites I want to rank long term and where I want to play safe but in this specific case are keywords/products that are new and the search volume lasts about 6 months, so I don't have any other way of ranking better than competition than replicate their link building strategy...

I leave here 2 examples of link profiles of websites ranking #1 to #3

final note: website are in portuguese and besides the number of links they are all from foreign countries so it's clearly a bought package like the one's that are sold here in BST

thanks in advance

Build more links from your country TLD. Also, if your site is portuguese, make sure your site is hosted on portuguese server. I found that it helps rank better. Most foreign countries serps are way different than USA and all the old tactics works and ranks. I see many people doing simple stuff to rank anything and their blog networks are so easy to spot but they rank like crazy

thanks for your answer!

that's what motivated my post, seeing that the websites that are ranking #1 to #5 are buying links and I have no way to compete in the short term if I don't do the same thing... :/

so, what kind of link package do you think I should try, taking into account the lin profiles I posted before... thanks in advance

You can always compete. I started ecommerse site and while its not ranking, its making sales from other places. This is great example how you could be making sales without google. What's more important, I dont have to worry about google updates, cause I know I will be always making money. There are various traffic sources. Dont just stick to seo, if you are short on money, try alternative methods, if you have money, do facebook and adwords, that's what I im doing at least. Guerilla have made video/webinar on how to build links by hand. I know it's not quite relative to your question on what links should you buy, but go over this forum, spend few days and make a plan. If you would know how to build links, know what is a quality link and what works more or less, you would know your answer. Trial and error is the key to success. Got of topic, sorry

thank you very much for your answer. this is an affiliate site specific to a product that will sell for less than a year probably... so I will waste my time if I work for long term. right now there's a hype in search and who's ranking #1 to #5 are there because of links they bought, what's clear if you take a look to their link profiles....

my situation is: do the same or no chance of ranking :/
as I, in the past had bad experiences buying links, I'm asking for advice to what kind of link packages should I buy in order to be safe and outrank them...

about other traffic sources, I surely have them but that's other question. here I'm asking for advice to outrank my competitors on serps as they are ranking just because the links they bought...

anyway, I appreciated your answer and help. thanks again for reply
