To keep a long story short, I've been looking at buying votes with usocial.net and I was wondering if anyone here has had any experience with buying digg votes or any other bookmarking site votes? There's not a lot of information about it online (mainly I think because it's kinda frowned upon and people don't like to admit they've done it) but I was just thinking I might take a stab in the dark and ask before I buy some votes.

If not that's fine -- I'm going to get some anyways and I'll post my results up here for everyone to see, for the sake of interest, if nothing more.:food-smiley-010:

Don't waste your money. Traffic from Digg is geek traffic which doesn't click ads.

it worked for me about 2 years ago, i dont think it works as well now. You can always buy about 30 or so just to get your story noticed, then get natural diggs.

Your best chance at hitting front page of any of the big social media sites is to simply create badass content. I think with enough thought and creativity, no what niche you're in, it can be achieved. Just have to think outside of the box. I've done it a few times. :)

+1. It's actually easier to just look at what Digg users want to see (as is shown by the front page day in and day out) and generate content that fits that mold. For inspiration, check out how Consumerist.com, Lifehacker.com, and Cracked.com always do it.

Find an area where you can continually get great content and keep trying. After you get a couple of FP Digg posts and the crowd grows acclimated to your domain, you'll find its much easier after that.

Yes, I've done it with multiple sites in multiple, totally different genres.

I'd also recommend targetting the other, similar sites as well (Propeller, Mixx, Reddit, Yahoo Buzz, etc). A strike-out on one can be a home run on another.

Just keep trying. And don't force ads (or even show them, for that matter) until you're VERY well established.

Simply put If you think your content is not worth the frontpage of Digg and Reddit, then just don't push your content on these sites.
