Browser keeps trying to download HTML files instead of display them

Awhile ago I posted about this problem I was having with my PC (on my macbook right now) - http://www.wickedfire.com/shooting-shit/36735-firefox-problem-i-cant-seem-shake.html

Well, it is still going on and I can't figure out a fucking solution. I uninstalled Firefox completely, and still having problems.

Since Firefox is now uninstalled, I open up IE to browse the web. Sure enough now IE is fucked up and trying to download every website I attempt to visit instead of displaying it. I can't even go to Google without it prompting me to download the files.

Anyone know what the hell is going on?
 


Did you wipe out your system and start from scratch? Chances are you'll never actually find the problem.

No, was trying to avoid that solution for the time being, even though a fresh start would prolly be good for the system.
