Bot question

I was thinking about running a computer I'm not using to direct traffic to my sites and youtube videos with ads.

The difference between this and other bots is it would be a standalone exe program that runs on the computer and controls the keyboard/mouse like a person. So it could go to google and type in terms I'm trying to rank for, then scroll through countless pages of results until it finds mydomain, which it then clicks on when it finds it, and clicks through the different pages of the site spending 5-10 minutes there, maybe click an ad and explore the site it opens as well, when it's done.

The other thing was with youtube vids, I can have it search and find my videos, then sit through several watching the full ads.

Then switch IP's and do it again...I was looking at google apps to host a proxy server, then let this other computer just keep running and repeating....

What do you think? How many views would you allow before resetting the IP? Anyone interested in a script like this for free?

For YT, proxies won't help you... You need to change user agents, flush cache, change mac address... Better kill yourself before.

Those "bots" you've probably heard about are not bot hosts from your computer, these are bot networks of stolen servers. Topic not too much for WF...

Yeah I know a lot of edu computers are in those massive bot networks. heh

I was just thinking of more natural traffic, not those 100k+ views per day or whatever but just something that will "organically" search through google for your stuff using the mouse to click the link to your domain when it finds it and whatever kinda behavior you want done from there(looking at each page, clicking an ad).

I wonder on youtube vids is there a big difference between viewing the vid embedded on a site vs going to youtube, searching for vids and clicking on vids to watch?

YT now doesnt count views from embeds in almost all social things, like livejournal, blogspot etc. Not sure bout FB...
 
I tried this about a year ago using sikuli and hidemyass vpn, sent about 50k searches and clicks to my page in the serps and didn't see any increase in ranking but YMMV.
