If I have a blog about a medical condition that I have, should I go at it as an informational blog (ie posts are information rich, non-personal), a personal blog (all posts are personal but I somehow work in information) or a divided mix of the two (post one might be scientific in nature and post two might be my personal log or something)

Suggestions?

My target audience is people looking for information on the condition but, as I have the condition, I can give some good personal experience information, too (which Id like to leverage).

Would you have time to setup two separate blogs, and try out the different styles on each one to determine which works best. That's what I would do :)

Josh, I am in favor of what is starting to dominate the serps. Personal branded sites that tell an honest story and give honest advice to people in need. I think if you approach it as truly wanting to help people then it will pay off for you in the long run by a site that is sticky, trustworthy and will be linked to.

So do it from a personal view so people can connect with you and also informational that you have researched.
