Beyonce lip synched national anthem at inaguration

I thought it had become publicly accepted that pop stars don't sing anymore (like 'wresting' being... shock not real like grecoroman wrestling)
 
Well, it could be possible that she just needs to rest her vocals. Its not like you can sing constantly from day to day without damaging your voice.

Anytime I see a performer jumping around a stage and don't hear them catching their breathe or missing a note I'm confident they're not singing live....

Lip syncing still usually only occurs if dancing is involved and I've never heard of it being done for the national anthem at a high school football game or anywhere else. Kelly Clarkson sang live.

Beyonce's reputation is that she can really sing, at least compared to Spears and the like.

Meh. I mean, she sounds good, but I wouldn't call her a "singer". If it wasn't for her sex appeal and obscenely hot face, she'd probably wouldn't have amounted to much.

^^^ This is exactly the reason why, along with the outdoor environment. It's not some great mystery. All the "live" music, Yo-Yo Ma, etc. was all prerecorded at the 2009 inauguration. It's windy, it's freezing cold, there's room for technical problems and human error and they want the event to be as perfect as possible.

Whoopty fucking do.
