So I've found a niche that I think could be profitable...it doesn't look too saturated and there doesn't appear to be MASSIVE competition. It's primarily dominated by 1 big vendor. I contacted them to see if they offer dropshipping and their account manager said that they do, but before they go into wholesale prices, they have to see a business license and storefront. It sounds like he's not taking me seriously.

Don't I need sales lit/pictures and all of that jazz from him in order to build the storefront out?

What would you guys do?

They're probably trying to avoid fly-by-night marketers and such, probably hoping to deal with someone in the long term. It's a common practice for manufactures or such to want to see a storefront before giving you any details. And a business license is an easy ~ 20-30$ way to establish some form of legitimacy.

It's also a way to weed out competitors from wasting their time.

agreed, you are probably not the first guy to go down that path. Decide how serious you are about the opportunity invest or move on..

It seems that a lot of companies are tightening reigns on new affiliates/drop shippers..

i will give u the best advice u can get..

if u are serious, hire a lawyer, get a distribution agreement in tact which gives you certain rights to a marketplace (like ebay) then commit to a certain volume of sales after a short test phase to seal the agreement.

otherwise, you will be making money until ppl start catching on and competition will move in and your profits die.

i quit fucking with ebay when they started fucking w/ the listing algorithms.. but i used to solicit companies and secure VERO deals to control their listings on ebay. basically i had a monopoly on listings, (i could cancel competitor listings) i was dropshipping and i had insane margins.

if nothing has changed w/ the VERO program, u can still do this today
