Best (non hal-9000) computer money can buy?

I was looking at dell but those are weak, even though I like dell it's time to upgrade to epic proportions.

Alienware looks pretty damn hot but I know a lot of people hate on alienware so I don't know if that's because it's just expensive, or because they aren't the best money can buy. I'd rather not build it myself, I've done that plenty of times already and honestly I'd rather just cash out 10k and end up with a small chunk of God in a box on my doorstep.

Are there any lesser known companies that could beat a+++ end alienware (all options upgraded)
 


also, for you guys with huge monitors.. do you find certain monitors are too big?

I mean as cool as a 30" monitor sounds and all, unless your desk is across the room i could see that being a pain in the ass on your eyes
 
I couldn't imagine having a 30" monitor. Stick with two smaller monitors (like 22" or so) and you'll probably not kill your eyes too bad.
