I have been running lead generation campaigns with most of the major networks and many of the smaller ones. It amazes me how many fake leads publishers try to sneak through. Overall 90% of the leads are fake. We scrub and phone verify all leads to catch them.

Do any advertisers have experience with networks that have reliable publishers????

On a serious note wouldn't you mind to post your niche here at least, not the exact offer. Maybe requiring some solid info about quality of leads will get you better results and less scrubing, as well as pay rate, cause sometimes it's just better to push CPS (which sometime easier to promote cause of variety of traffic channels who didn't ban that model) than try to push leads which will be scrubbed 90%, don't take it personally, I don't know your case.

One thing you might want to consider before signing on with any new network is to ask them in detail how they screen affiliates and what they do to detect fraud as it is happening. The better and more detailed answer they give you, the lower the chance you'll see fraud leads from the network.

But make no mistake, there isn't a network around that will prevent all fraud. Regardless of how great the anti-fraud measures a network might have, there are always some bad publishers that will get through since the network doesn't have access to all the data the publisher is sending in the leads. Since you as a merchant have that data, you need to work in partnership with the network to remove bad pubs from the campaign and reverse the fraud leads.

A little more info: We are currently running a home improvement campaign, home owners that would want to receive a free estimate from contractors. We then sell these leads to contractors.

What verification steps in your script do you have in place before the pixel pops? Higher a coder, theres many things you can do with that.

All leads are scrubbed by ServiceObjects and the pixel won't fire unless it scores over 50.But the pubs are smart, they use real info and get scores 80-95

Phwooah, surely you can afford a fair bit of leeway on lead quality then? I work in direct marketing in the home improvements industry, and the price they pay for leads is astounding...

Problem is that when we contact the homeowner, most say they never requested a free estimate or the phone is disconnected. There is no way we could sell this lead to a contractor and expect to keep them as clients.

Don't really know where your issue is then. We have around 15 live lead gens on a few networks now and are around a 15% "fraud" rate.

Why not go internal and put each pub through a hard "interview" process?

Do you have sales/marketing backgrounds? Because while someone with a decent background can make even a cold call hot, someone with no experience will just get the phone slammed. Even with door-to-door, there's still a reasonable rate of "I don't want this" after they've taken the quote.

I'm assuming you're not paying that much for them, judging by what I've seen on most affiliate networks. Less than $15? Cause even with a high percentage of false leads, you should still be able to turn a profit on that, the company I work for pays managers $200 per lead.

I can personally recommend EWA, A4D and MaxBounty.
All 3 networks are very reliable and legit and will have your best interest in mind.
As an advertiser, we have a lot of experience with EWA and they are great :)

Good Luck!
