Hi,
Are there any fast loading image editing programs - just for doing things like resizing, cropping etc?

Photoshop takes longer to load up normally than the time it takes to edit the image... Just want something that loads up as fast as paint ;) (but can resize/crop easily)

You can try Paint.NET, it does load longer then Paint but a lot faster then Photoshop and it has nice Photoshop like functionality.

I'm interested in the same thing, but not an online program. I currently use Imagewell for the Mac, which is awesome. It loads extremely fast and leaves a very tiny footprint. Is there anything like this for PC?

I tried Gimp and while it is powerful I missed certain Photoshop functionality so I went ahead and bought Photoshop... Also Gimps workflow is very different then Photoshop's workflow so if you don't want to spend time fucking around I'd recommend against it if you're already proficient with Photoshop.

Oh and to answer your question: no it doesn't load up very fast.

^ eh answered, lol

yes, a bit complicated for first time user. But I think you can adapt pretty quickly, not that hard. But if you just want to do simple editing and want to get it done fast right now, I think you shouldn't use it.

On the contrary I never use Photoshop coz i'm not really that designer and it's just too complicated for me (saw my sister designing with Photoshop). So, GIMP features is more than enough for me.

About loading, it works pretty fast for me... maybe computer setup?

oh, do let us know how PAINT works for ya :)

if you're looking for speed and simplicity see my above post...

I've been using FastStone's screen capture software for over a year (it used to be completely free) and tend to use it for cropping, resizing, etc., simply because it's friggin quick as shit and I get soooo pissed off waiting for photoshop to load if I just have to crop something...

I'm a pornographer, I work with tons of image content and I have a very short attention span...
just give their stuff a try --> FastStone Image Viewer, Screen Capture, Photo Resizer ...

if you want to keep the image proprotions and dont care about being able to adjust picture quality i use: Batch Picture Resize

its just an exe file, with an number ex/ photoresize400.exe

u just change the 400 to any resolution width you want then drag images to it and it'll automatically resize it while retaining proportions

Paint.NET for the win.

Tried to use gimp (despite the UI being awkward shit) several times, but it crashes on me frigging CONSTANTLY.

Why not try an older version of Photoshop. Version 6 ought to scream on a newer computer and give you the added bonus of some advanced capabilities with low overhead, plus you can deal with an interface you already know.
