I have a busy vbulletin forum with about 300,000 posts. Any recommendations for a great host for this?

A shared account is shared with lots of other accounts and sites. I don't think this wil be good enough for your forum due to the usage.
Managed Semi dedicated is shared with 4 users and all there sites. This could suit you. Managed means that all the software is installed for you and if it fucks up they fix it.
Dedicated is simply that you are only on the server.
I use hostgator (affil link) and I am on a managed semi dedicated package. They also do managed dedicated servers.
Hostgator use theplanet.com as there base for thier servers. Theplanet.com have a good range of self managed servers(you do the software). Another one I have looked at is layeredtech they have some good prices.
