Hey WF I'm about to grab my first domain any one got preferences or bad experience with certain companies?

Wanting to purchase it in a yr package so anyone have any great deals or awesome companies please let me know. Thanks In Advance

Would also like it to have a easy site builder specially it being my first time.

Come on

No one has any suggestions for a good host package for a beginner?
I'm itching to get started someone least tell me to fuck off or something!

You talking about hosting on a domain?

use godaddy.com for a domain (many people on here hate godaddy so do a search 'registrar, domain, etc' for other ones mentioned here... i've never had a problem with them though)

Hosting can be found anywhere, and its pretty competitive so its easy to find the same hosting features for the same price all around. dreamhost.com, primehost.com, mediatemple.com and so on.

I recommend moniker for your domains. Also look into hostgator for hosting.
And try to get your name domain if it's available, it might not be once you get going and you will regret not getting it.
And never hold of on a domain after you've put it into your cart, most registrars permit domain tasting and for a small loss allow you to get a refund if you change your mind on keeping it or not.

I use namecheap for domains, their interface is awesome
if you're getting a .info godaddy has a $0.99 offer on them
as Miguel said look into hostgator for hosting, I'm using it and love it so far, anyway there are a lot of good hosts out there
something you should look for in hosting is the possibility to add unlimited (or a reasonable amount) of domains, being on wickedfire you'll probably build several sites so having a low limit on the number you can host would be just pointless, and this way you can avoid the hassle of moving to a new host

well

I actually ended up going with Powweb. Had someone bring up some good points and was real cheap for me to start out also. Seems Like it should work out fine. Now im faced with actually applying everything Ive been reading here and few other places and hope for the best. So starting out as a complete noob to design a website now. Is this suppose to be the fun part cause im not sure what im feeling but don't think its fun..

Im about to get back to it and pull a all niter!!! Thanks for the Info though was just a little to late .

The fun part is swimming in money:

I have an account at powweb as well, I've had this account for bout 2 years
you'll be happy to know that they have handled some 40.000 visits days without sending me any notification or suspending my account
I just don't like their control panel
