Best CPM Network? and..if not CPM, what?

Okay, I don't want to be an ass and post something that is already on the forum, but my searches around "cpm network" didn't yield much.

I have a music website:

- I have ~50,000 visitors a month
- I get about 100k pageviews a month
- I have about 100 people on my mailing list

All I'm doing now is adsense, and its blowing chunks at about $10-$20 a month for me. I know this site isn't up to potential, but I'm not sure how to get the most out of it. (I don't know if I can post the link to my site, but I'm not gonna risk it - unless someone says I can)

What do you suggest as the best/highest paying CPM from my standpoint as the publisher?

And if CPM is not the way to go, what are your thoughts on CPA or some other form of monetizing?

Thanks

for that kind of traffic cpxinteractive can be a good choice.
plus your chances of being approved will be higher than other networks..

You're not going to make that much off that site no matter what CPM network you use. Unless you are doing a shitty job placing your adsense ads (we'd need to see your site to be able to tell that) your users just aren't that valuable.

If you can get into somewhere like Casale (which you won't) they can pay you a decent CPM, but you're still probably looking at $50-200/mo max.

Ok, thanks for the tips. Here is the site so you can tell me if I'm screwing up the adsense:

TopAcousticSongs.com | Best Acoustic Guitar Songs, Good Acoustic Music
If you want to make some money, don't be so embarased about your ads.

IMO - the adv right below the menu bar is barely visible. Then you have to scroll down to find the next one on the right.

So I would turn that top adv into a 720 wide one in a color that shows up. Try keeping the link part the same - same as your other links - and the text part should be white like your other text.

Then move your right sidebar advt up over your "About Me'.

It may partially be the niche, but I'm making a couple of K off of 60k impressions a month.

CPC is averaging to $0.19. I've tried to gauge how competitive that is, but feel a bit clueless still.

In the meantime, I've pursued TechnoratiMedia and ContextWeb. Waiting to hear back from TM, and confused as hell at the "askprice" on contextweb...I guess I name my own eCPM price. Any ideas what to shoot for/why its structured that way?

OK, just forget TM they suck immensely. Good job going for Contextweb, they're a good network as long as you set the price no lower than 50c.

$.19 isn't awesome, but it's all relative. In my experience, link units always have the lowest CPC. Is this true for you? Ditch those and replace with a full leaderboard as suggested earlier.

"Large Rectangles" are some of the better performing units in adsense. I use WP insert to put one in the top of every post. I saw substantial gains on my WP sites from this. In general, you want to integrate adsense with you content. That's where you are going wrong right now; your ads are hiding in the margins.

Look at the performance of your individual units. Trash the ones that aren't performing and try new placements till one works.

Just some ideas for you.

sell guitar strings on the frontend ---> market expensive guitars to buyers
there are quite a few affiliate programs for learning to play the guitar
since it looks like people are there just to listen to music.... ringtones

As everyone else says, make your ads visible! You gotta plaster some larger banners in some more obvious places. Also, I'm assuming most of your traffic is coming from SEO? $10-20 a month from 50k organic visitors is pretty shitty if you're getting $0.19 CPC. In this case, just by putting larger and more blatant ads in your content, I wouldn't be surprised if you could drive it to $100+ a month. Still not excellent, but much better than you're getting right now.

I would try to monetize your site with some in house media banners bro. If your getting that much on adsense try checking your sites demographics and then join EWA under my affiliate link lol... find offers related to your sites audience and make bank. Pm me if your interested in ewa or wolfstorm they both pay weekly.
