that gif's a bit iffy, too.

quality operations can usually afford $25 for a custom image.

Our apologies, the site had some minor problems that occured around 2:20 AM on Saturday. Everything is back to normal, and should be just fine now.

I clicked on the starter cloud option and it tells me the specs for a dedicated server. Is that really "cloud" hosting ?

I was wondering that too, and when you click on private cloud, it basically seems to be a 4-server configuration. Just seems to me neither packages are really what one considers 'cloud' hosting especially compared to say what you'd get from rackspace/softlayer/etc, but rather just preconfigured dedi setups.

I hate to say this but that's the slowest loading site I think I've seen in at least 2 years.

Sitenote: lol @ the 503 error.

ping time isn't bad at all (round 40ms) so not the latency, also the last three hops to cari.net is level3 -> 216.98.153.82 -> cari.net , so straight from the backbone should be fast too.

Course after I cleared cache and everything total load was bout 7 seconds, and the page contents appeared to be under 300kb in size, least according to Safari inspector. But when I loaded it earlier today... that was slow as shit.

But far as "Cloud", I feel like its false advertising in the way of misusing the terminology.

Well it depends, one of my friends has a good relationship with the top guys @ Cari and they do run clouds, they just obviously don't run all of their dedi's using cloud technology. From what I've heard their reliable, but holy shit is it expensive as well.
