Finch did a very thorough write-up on some MLM scam called Banners Broker. I can't believe I've never heard of this. Anyone have any family or friends that are "investors"?

If you're confused about their biz model, just watch this awesome video:

god damn -what a bullshit - its brilliant.

A cash cycle system where you buy you own banner space.

I think they will win the king of fraud cup easily.

Honestly, you can't save people from a Ponzi sheme.
They are hooked to it - its a kind of human mind misfunction.

There is even a good part of people joining the next Ponzi from the same people
after the old saturated and exploded.

Last month I managed to convince a family friend its a scam and they are hopefully divesting (if they can). But in most cases it's very very hard to convince someone when they are already invested, especially when they have seen payouts.

I have seen ponzis where the investors are even convinced it was legit even after it gets shut down by the cops. They believe that it failed BECAUSE of the intervention of the authorities.

Really is like a cult.

But really, IMO ponzi schemes show best just how little the average person cares about legality as long as they get paid. I think there are only rare really uneducated people who 100% trust it's a legit business. The majority knows something's up but are prepared to take a chance for the possibility of getting that 10,000 ROI

And when they defend it to you don't get fooled they really trust it themselves, it's just in the human nature to defend your past decisions especially when you've invested your money and don't want to look like a dumbass that you are

Some of my own family are tied up in this.

It's like a cult. Impossible to penetrate with logic.
Humour is the best way to convince people out of stuff like this. (Although if they've already invested money, it'll be a lot harder.

You can quote double blind studies until you're blue in the face to someone who believes in homeopathy, but show them this, and you may actually get somewhere (tested, had a gigantic effect on both people - not the largest sample size, I know :p)

Very difficult to convince people who clearly got scammed to get out their "investment" because they still have their hopes up that it'll work out. It's pretty unfortunate when they don't listen, even worse when you see somebody go through it. Thanks for the heads up on that OP! Will ensure anybody I encounter who might be into that to stay away.
