I just got approved for azzogle ads and I've got a question...

most of the affilliates say that you have to mask url's in email campaigns... is this true for website campaigns as well? If not, does it still make sense to do so? And furthermore... is this hard to do?

Its easy to do a redirect. Open up .htacess and simply do this:

Redirect /folder afflinkhere

you can do it via mod_rewrite, in .htaccess put

RewriteEngine On
RewriteRule ^puppies/$ http://www.affil-link.com/

then going to http://domain.com/puppies/ will take you to affil-link.com

not required on webpages or text I believe.. all depends on advertiser

In email campaigns... would it be ok to simply use Aweber's click-tracking turned on, in order to mask the url's?

It's probably because the advertisers want to see that the traffic is coming from your website too, or they will get a big bunch of unknown referers. Or simply that the advertisers really dont accept advertising from emails.
