I was a n00b and signed up for a crap hosting account with omnis.com thinking I didn't need to start spending money until I started figuring out how to make money (which might have been my first mistake) and they didn't seem like they were overselling too much. At any rate, you only get one MySQL database... which makes it about as useful as a bag of crushed assholes (it said MySQL database on the feature list... I didn't know they literally meant one fucking database so I guess that was sort of my fault as well). And their custom web panel is pretty stupid as well, I really didn't see any overly useful features and it also seems that you can't host subdomains (although I never verfied that). Live and learn. I've heard a lot of crap about Dreamhost and I really don't know if it is a sucky host, but I do know that is about ten times better than Omnis so far.

Thanks for the warning.

Everybody moans about DreamHost, I have an account, host a few small sites on them and haven't had a problem so far.

HostGator is great though.

I guess hostgator turned itself around. Lately, I see a lot of this. I closed my hostgator account a couple years ago because it was offline so much. Either than or the server would take forever to respond to requests (overloaded)
