Anyone ever tried this?

I have a scarlet johansen which is a misspelling of her name (i kinda fell into this because i actually thought this WAS how it was spelled at first). I setup an arbi style site where theres ads to click and thats it, and I've been making an average 2-3 dollars per day from the site. I just got 5 more domains with the misspellings getting the same amount of searches as scarlet site or more. I'm hoping to get the same amount of cash from them. No money spent on ads, all search engine traffic. so its like Arbi, but better. lol.

I used to do that, that was the first way i ever made money on the internet. You can make money, but there also a risk of getting sued. I had one typo domain that had 100-200 uniques of auto loan related traffic per day. I got rid of i because it was definately trademark infringement, it wasnt worth it for me

Hey you thief, are you enjoying the money you stole from me?

Watch out, this guy is a real scammer

fryman, i told you. I HAVE THE LAYOUTS YOU ORDERED. IVE HAD THEM FOR YOU. either accept the layouts, or move on and stop running around telling people one thing, and not letting anyone know about you. I'm NOT going to sit here and argue with you. this thread was ment to be HELPFUL and have a good discussion. if you just came here to WF to run your mouth you fucking moron, then keep it moving! dumb fucker. its funny you like to jump the gun, run your mouth, drop names ALL to better your name, but when it gets thrown up by people you CLAIM are scammers (and ARE NOT) you do not have the balls to reply to them about any of it. fucking deuche bag.

Wow, you are just full of class, aren't you?

You have never told me that you have the layouts finished. Anyway, why would I want them? You said it would take a week, now after several months you want to deliver them? You are a living joke.
Give me back the money you stole, that is the only solution for this. You are just showing the world the kind of scammer you are.

Fryman,

All the 12 replies you posted here are about Robert de Vore and that he stole money from you, can you stop spamming this forum with useless replies & discuss those things with him in private!!

By the way, are you the same Fryman who is a member of SP and DP? If that's the case, please fuck off & go back to where you belong. Or become an active member here as well and post useful replies like everyone else is doing!!

Sorry ALL, but this guy makes me really sick with his stupid replies all the time (I thought it was time to say something about it!).

How bad are the misspellings and how long did it take for them to be picked up by the search engines?

Oh and fryman, fuck off

They call this typosquatting. I was just about to do it recently but backed off once I realized the risks.

I think myname.com/scarletjohansen.html should be legal, not!?
The problem might be with name of famous people in domain name itself!!

Besides that concentrate on optimizing your content (using misspelled keyword phrases in title, headers, article, etc.). That should be legal & OK I guess... I don't expect also misspelled search results to be well optimized.

On the other hand (if doing it in a illegal way if so), using keywords in domain is proberly much more powerful to get a high ranking for seo reasons! :)

illusion, they are just one letter missing or one letter different (ie: jesica or angalina).

Mike, thanks for the kind words.

I am going to roll the dice with the legalities of the domains. If I eventually have to shut one down, then I still have many more, and will just make another one.

I used to own the real name of some pop star in the philipines, it got a ton of typein traffic, but i sold it because i didnt want to deal with it. Also i know that madonna, jennifer lopez, and some other have sued to get typos of their names and won. Just make sure you have private domain registration
