I have no interest in aquariums, but the husband has a 90 gallon salt water tank that he would live in if he could.

Thinking of getting him a magazine subscription for the V-day (really romantic people live in my house) and wanted to know if anyone has any good suggestions on one that might be interesting or useful?:love-smiley-087:

I used to be in the hobby, and most print magazines out there suck. Plus they don't have updates every month etc. Online magazines are waaaaay better and current.

Books and good. Gift cards for livestock or equipment is much better :)
 
Agreed, there's not ton of ground break stuff for the hobby, a nice feather duster, cool crabs, or even some hermit crabs would be a nice small gift. nice big gift would be a "show" emperor angel, oooooo pretttyyy.
 
Give a piranha as a gift. Will solve the fish problem. Then throw hubby in the aquarium. All problems solved.

Be sure if you get him something live its campitable with his pecking order

Live aquaria is really the only good mag and its a store catalog lol
 
Yeah I never found a good magazine for the hobby of saltwater tanks. It was all pretty stupid stuff or had mixed water articles.

The best gift will be livestock or toys for the tank. Dose he have a fish only tank? or a live reef? If its the reef there is always room for more corals which really should be bought locally. So hit up the local reef store and get him a gift card. If he has a fish only tank its better to go with equipment. Its very hard to mix/add fish to a tank. A gift card to Fosters and Smith or something should be good.

Much better than last year when we had to listen to that riddar chick talk about getting her BF a manicure for his birthday.
 
Thanks guys - it's a living reef system with shrimp, corals, fish, crabs, "living rock" and other things that cost more in a sitting than I spend on groceries in a month. LOL

Too bad there's not a magazine out there worth getting. He has his favorite shops around here for the salt water tank. He has a freshwater one, too in my son's room. Guess I'll have to go with the manipedi after all. J/K. Fish gift card and blue Snuggie to compliment my pink one might work.
