Apple negotiating with MS to make Bing the official iPhone Search Engine

Isn't really ironic how as much as in general people hate Microsoft they actually want them to get bigger and overthrow Google because Google has a stick up its ass?
 
Google needs some competition. Having such a dominating lead in the search share is a bitch for web masters because we're all pandering to make the big G happy because our incomes depend on it. F that......

It used to be that Microsoft was a bully and Google was a bunch of self important elitists. Now that Google is a self important elitist and a bully Microsoft aint seeming so bad.

I feel you on that but. But here is my take on this. It doesn't matter who dominates Google, they're going to have to have the exact same strict ad policies. Google's whole purpose is to create an efficient internet browsing experience for the user and getting rid of shady ads plays a big role in this. Why wouldn't Bing or whoever follow this same recipe.

I tend to agree with what you wrote. Since the formula has already been written, that is to say the wheel created, why not increase improve upon it without changing the business model?

And many people hate Microsoft too.

Many people hate many things, lol.

As marketers, instead of getting too emotionally
involved, we should be thinking of how to
make the most lemonade out of the lemons there
are out there.
 
This is not surprising. RIM is now installs Bing as its default search tool right on the main screen whereas Google Apps need to be downloaded. Must mean something big is a brewin...
 
Good luck to them.

There's not a whole world of difference between them and Bing needs a boost.
