I hope that design is a joke. We do need an alternative to PayPal. They just froze my account a week ago for no legit reason.
Heard that too, would be crazy if it's true but I don't think it is. So many rumors going around about the new version noone really knows exactly what it's gonna have.
When you think about it, it kinda make sense. They already have an online payment infrsatructure by way of AppStore that sells millions and millions of licenses for a global marketplace of iOS and OSX apps along with music, videos, books and ???
Apple competeing with Google and Amazon for products vending and Paypal for payment gateway? Stranger things have happend. If they pull this one off they will become a trillion dollar a year MNC. Although Google's Android devices are greater in number and Kindles + Nooks are domainating ebooks, IMHO these sellers are niche dominant and may not neccessarily be as organized nor do they enjoy Apple's cachet, branding and loyalty. Look at Apple's approach. Give hardware to academics for cheap and drive their hardware techs into college kids hands... Its a proven strategy that big tobacco have used for years to build product loyalty decades ago.
The only thing is going to be the cost of implementation, the adjudication and payment processes, along with transitive trust between the providers, the end users and the financial organizations to make my airline or travel agent send me my itinerary, my QR code boarding pass and have the peanuts, soda and pretzels with my duty free waiting for me when I board

Apple is simply adding more convenience to their consumers. I did hear about this way back but I do not have information about iWallet. Somehow, they need to concentrate further advertising this new product.
