I'm planning on offering package websites to clients w/domain name registration included. To start with, I guess I'll just purchase their domains manually through my own account, but with their credentials as owner, and mine as technical contact.

Longer term, I'd like to provide the domain registration through my website, talking directly to the registrar. To do that it would appear that I'd need an API reseller account. Checking several options, I'm aware of, it seems that
ResellerClub.com ( Directi ), OpenSRS and Namecheap have the lowest cost of entry.

ResellerClub.com charges no fees, and requires a minimum initial deposit of $199

OpenSRS charges a one-time set up fee of $95, and requires an initial deposit of "one months charges" - whatever that amount is.

Namecheap (Unified Registrar) offers domain reselling at $49 annual fee, and credit card processing, so no deposit is necessary. However, it's API is just in beta - there's no industry feedback on how well it works, or if there'd be an additional cost if used.

Any recommendations??
