I just set up one of adwords coversion optimizers today. Has anyone tested these out or heard anything about them? Basically you set a bid of what you are willing to pay per conversion and the program goes on autopilot trying to achieve that conversion cost for you.

It seems a little too good to be true, but hopefully it does what it says it will!

Do a search on Google about it, a bunch of blogs come up with case studies. Basically it works, but in most cases the ROI was something like 10-15% lower than just the old fashioned let-it-ride delivery. Everyone could be different tho, I'm interested to hear how it goes for you.

Yah i was having a wicked day today, prior to enabling it. Its probably going to take a week or so before I can accurately say if its helping or hurting. But my guess is that its google and it will work...

One thing I did notice is that all my keyword quality scores went to "great" $0.05 min bids...I mean every single one. That is pretty promising!

It's their old budget optimizer, (which failed), re-named and re-packaged. I wouldn't touch it. Never let them control your bids, they have a vested interest in making as much money as they can and that's giving them a bit too much control.

I had heard the budget optimizer was crap, it just optimized your clicks not taking into account your crap keywords. This isnt the same thing repackaged traffic optimizer, have you even used it at all? Baseless opinions passed off as facts are useless.

to use conversion optimizer doesnt your account need to have an obseen amount of conversions per month like 500 or more?

Yah currently you need 300 conversions in 30 days to be eligible for it. They say its so the google engineers can accurately analyze your data so they know where and when to run your ads and at what price.

Yesterday I had a wicked day coming in under the designated max CPA. But first thing this morning I checked and I am $10 over my max CPA bid. I think it will take a while to see it balance out.

They say it takes about 2 weeks to optimize.

Another thing it does is "daypart" your ads ... meaning it will actually turn your ads OFF during the times when you are least likely to make a sales, effectively saving you on what would be wasted spend.

I still have not tried it ... I hope you will keep us posted.

What do you mean "it works" if ROI is coming up 10% to 15% LOWER?

Perhaps you can give URLs to some of those case studies. Thanks.
